Fuel Questions

Is another symptom of a dying fuel pump intermittent noise?  Normally I
cannot hear the pump in the tank but every now and then it will start
making a lot of noise.  Is failure just around the corner?

When this happpened to me it was signal that the in-tank fuel pump was
dying. It gets progressively worse.
