Go to a US Gov't search site, like GovBot  and look for a link to 
the   United States Code  (USC) then do your search.
Then look for a link to the Code of Federal Regulations    (CFR) and do 
your search    this will provide more detail.
Then go to the website for your state gov't and find a link to your state 
statutes (aka Code of, General Laws of  etc) and do your search
