Wierd oil problem
DUDE, I can't believe you said the four-letter F word on the list!!! Didn't
see you as a potty mouth Larry!
As far as the oil is concerned it has a lot to do with the type of weather
you drive your vehicle in (along with how you use your vehicle, of course)
and this subject has been hashed, re-hashed, double hashed, then
corn-beef-hashed on this list. There is a very nice in depth write-up on
what oil grades mean but I don't have the link. Someone, I'm sure, will
chime in and re-post it!!

No, only old Car & Driver Magazine editorial filed away in some-times
unreliable memory bank under my FORD Racing hat.

Any scientific analysis (links) to back that point?
Cheers.

Try going with 20w-50 full syn.
I've read that >30 points difference between the first number and the
second
is NOT a good idea.

Nope, 5w50 full synth.

Ah, forgot to mention that the oil light stays on after the engine
is
running, hydro lifters clattering. It does this only after the car has
sat
for at
least 12 hours. Just about anything less and the light goes out as soon
as
the motor kicks in, everything sounds normal.
About the only thing I can think of off hand is maybe the backflow or
check valve in the filter is weak, allowing the oil to seep back into
the
pan.
