what to do about grooved drive flanges

Amazingly, I hadn't thought of that. I think in the back of my mind I was
recalling past instances of getting yelled at by junkyard owners for
taking things apart in the yard to get only the parts of them I needed.

I suppose the way to get around that is go to a "universal" yard that has
all makes of cars, including domestics. They would probably care a lot
less. Or at least take them off a bad tranny :)

Those little circlips for the drive flanges could prove to be a real
pain to get off in the yard, though. (could?)

.. are the seals the same size for 90mm and 100mm ? If the 90mm are
smaller, then maybe I could chuck a 100mm flange in the metal lathe and
cut it down to the 90mm seal size. I'd have to polish up the
surface so it wouldn't wreck the seal right away but wouldn't that be a
strange monster ? :)
