what to do about grooved drive flanges
You could look around and find different drive flanges out of the wreckers.
All the VWs come with 100mm axles these days so it shouldn't be too tough to
find some newer flanges in the yard. You could try the emery cloth but with
synthetic I'd probably go with different flanges but it depends on how deep
the grooves are. You may be able to adjust the seals slightly so they don't
run in the same spot too. HTH!!
