<P>I personally want to put a "euro style" small scoop for ram air on the drivers side. Either above where the battery goes or just back a little ways from there.</P>
<P>Any ideas of air folw in that aera of the hood? Good spot or not?</P>
<P>I did look at the ram air DIY on scirocco16v which looks cool but I like the scooped look.<BR><BR>Peace Out, </P></DIV>

<DIV></DIV>> We put a hood scoop on the MkI of my youngest son. It is a low-profile unit and doesn't do much. I'm not an aerodynamicist, I do know that unless a scoop in the middle of the hood sticks up at least 2-3 inches, it's sitting in a fairly dead air zone. You need a high-pressure location (such as the bottom of the windshield) or a high-flow area (such as a TALL, pro-stock type scoop....that's why the pro-stock builders use the tall scoops)

<DIV></DIV>> I'm investigating different mounting locations for the intercooler in my
<DIV></DIV>> Scirocco, and one of the options is above the transaxle in approximately
<DIV></DIV>> the same location as the Golf GTD. The golf uses ducting to route air
<DIV></DIV>> from the grille area over the intercooler. I've considered installing a
<DIV></DIV>> hood scoop to bring fresh air directly onto it.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> Does anyone have any experience with installing hood scoops? Any idea
<DIV></DIV>> where to buy one that would fit the Scirocco's profile without looking
<DIV></DIV>> reminiscent of a 77 Firebird (Sorry Cathy?) How much dinero?
