Is it worth it.....NO on a regular daily driver/commuter Scirocco the
benfits aren't that great.
That being said....it's easy, looks cool and everyone is doing it so
your a total weenie if you don't :-)
Pros;
looks cool
easy pad changes
Cons;
brake dust on your cool guy wheels
greater chance for rear brake failure in wet and snowy climates
early calipers are prone to the e-brake sticking
Parts;
16v rear calipers
16v rear carriers
16v rear pads
dust shields
splash guards
e-brake cables
stub axels
brake lines from trailing arm back...or bend the old metal ones
16v brake booster, M/C and proportioning valves are also a good idea but
not mandatory
If you can get the parts cheap and have modest mechanical skills it's a
worthwhile mod.

Hay i'm thinking of puting on a set of 16v rear disk breaks on my 85 8v.
Now the questions are: is it worth it, what are the pors and cons, and
what all is involved/needed to do this mod.
Thank you
William F.
