It's happened to me so often I've come to call it the 'calm before the storm' because whenever things are just right, it means something's going to go. Or maybe you're just lucky and have a very environmentally (and wallet) friendly car. You should go wax it to show it your appreciation. ;)

I drove the 16v up to Los Angeles yesterday. Got 41.07 mpg! Never before has it even approached that kind of mileage.
I thought it was an error on my part somehow. Today I made the exact same trip and got 39.66mpg. I don't get it....??? Why the terrific fuel mileage all of a sudden?

well, I just came back from toronto, a 175km round trip for me.........hahaha, 39mpg
