Texas rain is crazy, glad I don't have to put up with it. The roads here
are crap but at least they are built for rain so its hard to flood them like
in texas.

I have to agree I have 15/205/V rated Escta 712's and they grip lilek there
is no tomorow, wet or dry...I like them alot on my rocco, as a side not I
have yokohama's on the daily driver and though they are H rated (I cruise
this car) they are quite good under wet (and I am talking texas blasting
rain with 1/2" running on the road... never feels like ya floating.

Well, I have the 712's on my rocco and really like them. These tires will
actually be for my bmw and will be 17's. I haven't seen the dunlop sp8000
in the size that I'm looking for (235/45/17) and the sp9000 and sp8080e have
lower ratings on tirerack so I really haven't looked at them. Also, some of
the reviews of the Goodyear f1's were compared to the dunlop sp8000 and they
said they were far better than dunlop.
This will be a daily driver, mostly freeway, in the rainy pacific norwest
(seattle area). Frankly, from everything I look at the Goodyears are
looking really promising but I don't know if they are really worth 200 extra
when I know the 712's and es100's are already great performing tires and are
about $90-100 for my size.
Wet traction is very important to me.

If you are looking for auto-x tires, Falken Azenis have just about the
most grip of anything out there (not r-compound). I don't like the
turn-in compared to the Ecsta 712's, but the overall grip is way better.
Of course if it's just for driving around town you could probably find
something that does better in the rain and that doesn't wear so fast.
should find 2005/550/15's for about $70 a tire @ discounttiredirect.com
or at vulcantire.com

Several of my friends have/do use them, and some people on the list do
too.

ecsta 712s and thought I would try Yoko ES100 to compare but two models
listed in the subject line aren't much more and have superior ratings
on tirerack. Anybody have an opion on wether they are worth the extra
cash ($50-$60 more per tire) or any experiance with them. I'm not
sure what to get now. If it were merly cosmetic I would go for the
Yoko's but they are all cool looking and I just want to get the best
performer.
