Mk 1 has the shakes

<P>Has the car sat for a while? Loose all the air in a tire and re-inflate it? I had a bit of water in a tire once and it acted wierd as poo, always smoothed out around 70-ish..... centrifugal sp? force at work.</P>

<DIV></DIV>Ok. I think the rattle is seperate from the shakes.

<DIV></DIV>Does your steering wheel feel the shake? If so there are a couple of things to try. 
<DIV></DIV>1)Wheel bearings. Go wheel to wheel. grip the top of the wheel and push in and out. There should be no play in the movement. Do the rears as well. I had mine die and it caused a shake as well. 
<DIV></DIV>2) Check your tie rods. Look at the place the sections join. Have a friend turn the steering wheel a bit. Look for any movement from the tie rod ends and the shaft. 
<DIV></DIV>3)Check your wheel weights. Lose any?

<DIV></DIV>&gt;any difference. I'm driving along, the car begins to shake above 
<DIV></DIV>&gt;65mph shakes volently above 70 and worse upon deceleration until you 
<DIV></DIV>&gt;get back down to 65 and below. The steering is stiff even for a 
<DIV></DIV>&gt;non-PS Mk1,and pulls to the right a little. By the way all the 
<DIV></DIV>&gt;shocks are toast. When you first start it up there's a can with a 
<DIV></DIV>&gt;marble in it being shaken sound under the hood. Any thoughts on 
<DIV></DIV>&gt;this? I'm planning to attend the Cinci get together, should I PIA
