OT Why are license plates always blacked out?

haha...I can't remember the last time my car was garaged where it is=20

I know the reason my plate is 'whited' out in my pictures is because

reflective.=A0 You hit it with a flash and it becomes a white spot that

one can see.=A0 I am not sure how many other states/provinces have
reflective
plates that do the same, I don't ever have to black mine out.
