Fw: I hate my shifter

Before you go out and spend big bucks for heim style links- you might want to 
consider using the same rod ends that TSR uses for their linkage kits. These 
can be purchased from McMaster-Carr part #9416K87 for $2.25 ea. They will 
install straight over the existing VW 13mm linkage ball.  In order to replace 
the bushed ends of the long shift rod- you'll need to buy the 13mm ball 
studs- part #9512K83 at $1.13 per.

In order to lock it all down, it is necessary to buy the safety wire clips- 
#9416K82  $3.13 pkg of ten.

You can put together an EXACT clone of the TSR linkage for much less than 
$25...

(Wish I'd known this last year before the TSR group buys...)
