I got the green screw in part, I wish I'd known about the plug and I
wish the company took time to ask if I need it to. Oh well.
I have heard that some flywheels have a magnetic marker at the timing
position and the techs use a magnetic pick-up to read the signal and
thus time the engine. This stops the trying to look into the hole, etc.
Does anyone know if this is the case with this engine?

There are two parts, colors may vary depeneding on location and age.
One part looks like it screws in, and has a hex outer shape, with a
funky green color.
The inner portion is usually white semi opaque plastic and has that
tethered plug mentioned earlier. No breathing or vent tube has ever been
noticed.
