New to the list, Mk1 questions.
Wow, a new guy to the list and he already has the Bentley. Way to go.
I suggest getting a hotter spark plug (Don't use champion) something like a
Bosch fdc8 (help me out here, i'm losing it) and then inspecting all of the
power wire between the battery, coil and distributor. Then make sure all of
the chassis grounds are fresh (from the alt to the battery to the transaxle
mount). Replaced your fuel filter recently; that never hurts.
Good luck and welcome to the list.

I have a '81 Scirocco, that is hard to start unless the ambient temp. is
warm. I have to keep it running at first, then it will idle OK, but if I rev
it above 2000 RPM and then let off the accelerator it stalls and will not
start for about five minutes, like it is flooding.
