what exactly is an "RD" motor?



>From what I know,
the RD engine is a high compression 1,8 litre
interference engine,
comparable to the 112 HP DX-engines that we had here in Europe 
in our Golf GTi and Scirocco GTX.

It's the designation that VW put on the Scirocco 16v.
