well, i've just about run the length of my rope. i'm out of ideas and
don't know what else to do short of replacing wiring now. i'm needing
this car running sooner than later and will have to take it to a shop if
a miracle doesn't happen. i'm willing to kiss ass to make it happen,
though i reserve the right of who's ass to kiss. at any rate:
'85 8v jh engine. new coil, plugs, wires. get spark from coil wire and
plug wires. replaced transfer and fuel pump. also replaced the jetronic
computer tonight. hear sounds from both pumps (normal sound) and buzzing
from fuel distributor. timing marks lined up as follows: camshaft with
front / left edge of the head; crankshaft and intermediate shaft lined
up with each other (notch in pulley & dot in pulley). all wires are
hooked up properly and all vacuum hoses are connected. about the only
thing that i haven't done is hook up the coolant hoses. i turn the key
and engine turns over, but won't catch, despite pressing on the gas
pedal or leaving it alone. the only things that i did to the engine
prior to putting it in the car was put a dual manifold and down pipe on
it. it does have a larger throttle body it but, prior to installation,
the engine did run, even after the accident. so....
like i said, i'm at an end here. i don't know what more to do 'less i
pull the wiring and put the wiring in from another car. i could test
compression again to check things, but the number were good prior to
installation. please send me any ideas you may have. i don't really have
the $$$ for a shop, but i'm coming to a crunch and need the car. please
help if you can. thanx.
