Up until the most recent change of rules/classes, A DSP 2.0L 16v could of
been competative. Now I think the MK-II 16v is just too heave with a
crappy suspension compared to the OTHER cars.
As it is now the best class for a VW is FSP. (Even tho the Corolla's are
a better car and SHOULD actually be in DSP, 1.8 16v Corolla + RWD, DSP
for sure.) GS I think has a chance with a VR6 but there are just too many
faster cars out there.
But, as always, build what you can afford and go have fun. The biggest
factor to ANY vw not being competative is the driver.
