MK3 Scirocco: is it time?
Generally speaking (this doesn't hold true for each model of course),
BMW builds sports cars with luxury options and Mercedes builds luxury
cars with sport options. Given Audi's racing heritage and its widely
used awd systems, maybe the thought was it was better suited to take on
BMW leaving VW to build a luxo cruiser to get MB buyers interested. I
don't know, just guessing here....
