oil pressure

Are you sure you do not got the switches mixed ??
Here is what I recommend.
Oil warning (low oil warning on models with the dynamic system) and pressure can
be a VDO sending unit that should go on the head. Since the head would be the
first to loose oil in a failure and the last to get it when starting cold I would say the
head is the best place. No big deal to put the oil sending unit on the filter housing
also. VDO make a nice dual sender (pressure/low warning) 360-023 for 150 psi
units. Forgot the 100 and 80 psi part numbers.
Always have the oil warning (low oil warning on models with the dynamic system)
sender at the head. VW always had the high sender on the dynamic ones on the
housing. Use to be white was high and brown/black was low. Now the colors are all
over the place with all thw different aftermarket ones so read the sending unit to
see which one is which.
I use to fix so many of these systems when they first came out. People and shops
would get so screwed up because they did not understand the system. VW even
had a specific workbook for fixing these systems. They had a lots of failed control
units at first.
