Well,

It seems obvious to me that Mr. Farren's vacation message is replying to
whoever posts a message (Patrick, in this case). This is because the list
is configured to reply to the Poster, not the List. That's one advantage
of having the replies go to the List instead: The list would reject it (in
this case) as a non-member post. Behavior would be the same under 
majordomo. Instead you have what happened here -- reply direct to a poster 
with the mail list being completely out of the loop.

Additionally I believe there are certain standard rules for header
formatting that vacation messages are supposed to adhere to so that any
mail handler may appropriately filter it. This is not a shortcoming of
Mailman. Again, the behavior would be the same under majordomo.

So what are the migration plans of the list to your hardware, Brett?
