headgasket

I would say that it is 1/2 as difficult since you don't have to deal with
the intake being in the way of getting to the exhaust manifold bolts. Once
you pull the intake off (really easy), pull the distributor and wires, drain
the cooling system and pull off a couple hoses, pull off the t-belt, then
all you do is pull the exhaust manifold and the thing is practically off!!
I pulled my 16v head in about 30 minutes start to finish and that is with
the intake and exhaust manifolds off of the head. Installation is always a
little longer since you need to be clean, install the head perfect so as not
to disturb or scrap the head gasket, and torque the head so that took me a
little longer, 45 minutes. I think the thing that took the longest was
bleeding the cooling system!!! Stupid upper radiator hose!! I'll do the
cool radiator/alternator swap some day soon!! Anyway, in some ways the 16v
is easier and in others it is a little more difficult so I would say it took
about the same amount of time. Now, headwork, that is a different story!!
Not that it is difficult, but just double the amount of valves!! HTH!!

P.S. Don't listen to Shawn, he's stuck on 8v's ; )
