Best one I've ever had was a Shell brand maintenance free unit. 

It came with the Rabbit GTI I bought about 4/5 years ago and moved
from car to car. Until two weeks ago when it left the stable. :( 

It ran and ran and was drained for a week and after running around a
day (w/ the 90 amp Alt) it showed no ill affects.
