[ENG]- condition opinions?

  This is the motor out of the Fox I mentioned yesterday, 1.8 8V. 150K miles 
on it. Starter is shot so I couldn't do a compression test on it, what few 
cranks it could do showed up on the compression gauge. Owner says it was 
rebuilt by his father-in-law, plugs were fouled and smelled of gas, looked 
into a few cylinders through the plug hole, pistons were black. 
  Possible problems: Fuel mixture is screwed up and running rich to foul the 
plugs,  valve guide seals could be worn. 
  Considering I'd toss everything that makes it a Fox motor and installing 
everything I need off the 'rocc's motor, would this be a good candidate for 
an engine swap for $75, or should I just consider installing the 5-spd 
gearbox onto the 1.6 in the car and just keep looking for a good motor?
