This is what I am thinking. It sounds to me like a pro mailorder thief.
Money order, a phoney name and address. Big city mailorder theft is rampant
to say the least.

The best thing is to check the headers of his e-mail account. Contact the
admin to check the adm logs for his IP address and ISP he is coming
from. Then contact his ISP and hopefully he isn't on one of the 45 day AOL
wonders, right Pete! :) If he is and put in bogus info we still would have
a chance to find his phone number with the Radius logs on the providers terminal
server that he is using. The postmaster general for Newark should be notified
via a complaint submitted to the local post office.

Save all the e-mail. Look at the headers and see if there is an X-trail IP
address associated with his e-mail address. If he is using anonymous e-mail
software the only chance might be the adm logs on the server. Hopefully he
isn't bright enough to hide his IP address using full sockets OS.

You can also engage a paper trail on the money orders and find out where
they were originated. Your bank might be able to help you there.

Finally some recon in the suspects local hood. I would hold off until
you find out what the shipping address is all about. Do a rev on the address
for a phone number and who knows you might get lucky if you social engineer
the inhabitant the right way. Like "wuz sup, got the part you ordered for the VW
and its ready for pick up." Then from there talk about having it
delivered and to verify if this is the correct address. "Peace bro". etc...

I hate to say it but you probably won't get your money so lets hope that
you can snag the part once we have the right guy.

You might want to forward all of his e-mail and the headers associated with
them to me and I'll let you know if he's slick or some amateur.
