Rear hatch water leaks
I had this problem too, but no sunroof.
I renewed the taillight and hatch seals with a BMW product called
GummiPflege, the problem has abated.
GummiPflege is a Vaseline-like substance that returns the 'springiness' to
rubber. I also use it for door and window seals to keep them pliable and
crack-free. May be useful to help maintain the windshield seals for you MK1
folks too, since they don't seem to be available anymore...
Cheers,
