Rear hatch water leaks

We have 2 GT2 Sciroccos, both have leaks in the rear hatch, one often quite
significant. The water seems to get into the frame of the hatch and come out
of the holes at the bottom.

Can anyone give suggestions as to where the water gets in and more important
how to keep it out.
