Doughnut Downpipe Clamps

Hey All,

Anyone have suggestions for removing the often-times rusty and stubborn 
"doughnut" downpipe C clamps? The last motor pull I just clanged them with a 
BIG screwdriver and mallet until they shot off while I hid beneath the 
oilpan, NOT fun.

Any help would be great!
