I think we all own Scirocco's because they are easy to work on, not 
everyone has one, they are cheap, and they are fun to drive.  The newest 
  VW offerings are just fun to drive and the other things, you need to 
put aside.
    Just think what ANY Scirocco would be like if you put $20,000 into 
it over the next 5 years.  You'd have a monster!  But on the other hand, 
at best you would need to put down at least $3,000 and still pay the 
$20k to get a new Scirocco if they made it.  I don't know who on the 
list would do that.
