RE: speaking of new VW's
well, as pissed as I am about my last VW purchase (that POS Jetta) I could
really care less what they come up with and decide to market. Don't get me
wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing a *new* Scirocco, but I'm not holding my
breath. Nor am I ever buying another new VW. They can kiss my F&*^%ING Ass
for the way I get treated whenever I need parts for my other *better* VWs.
Fucking punks only care about $$....I'm not communist, but you have to
demonstrate some kind of loyalty to your owners. If you created a product 50
years ago and have a faithful following of that product (read: old
air-cooled stuff), you have to respect those people, because if you piss
them off, they will actually go out of their way to find a company that WILL
show them some loyalty back.
uh....oops, that was kind of OT.....and lengthy.....sorry :o

Unless they get 300,000 letters, with deposits, they'll just send you a
nice, polite reply that will start with, "Dear Dan, Thank you for your
interest in Volkswagen products." and end with "Don't call us, we'll call
you."
If VW thought there was a viable market for a Scirocco-replacement, they'd
be bolting 'em together right now. A manufacturer needs to feel that they
can sell 100,000 units every year for 4-5 years before they will spend the
millions (no exageration) it takes to bring a new model to market.
The sport-coupe (that's what a 'Roc really is) market is saturated.

I'm up for writing a professional letter to them regarding this lack of
sports cars from VW

I wonder what the response would be if eveyone on this list wrote to VW
requesting a
return of the
Scirocco sports car line. Based on the same concepts- style, affordability,
and true
driver
performance.
In my opinion the GTI, Jetta, and Beetle will never be sports cars- they may
be made to
handle and go fast but they look far from being very "sporty". (no offense
to owners of
these fine VW's- don't wanna start a flame here.)
The Audi TT is nice but it's not a scirocco- In my opinion the market is
ripe for the
return of a true VW sports car.
