WOOHOO! 6-speed at last!

I FINALLY drove my Scirocco home tonight!

Four and a half months and more money than most people would consider
spending on a 'roc later, she finally has her 4K with .71 sixth gear and
Quaife installed. <drool> I'm grinning like a deranged Cheshire cat.

Everything appears to be working just fine so far (all 20 miles of it), and
I even used the 6th gear on the way home. The mech who did the install left
a matching pair of small patches in his garage to demonstrate the Quaife. :)
After a brief test drive, we put her back on the lift to check things out.
There's a brass plug of some kind on the end cone, and it's leaking just a
little bit of tranny fluid. I'm going to try and call Vince tomorrow to ask
about that. It's pretty minor so far, so I'm going to leave it until the
500 mile tranny fluid flush. (All Redline, of course.)

Pics can be found at <http://members.home.net/mikes.vws/Sonja/Pictures.htm>,
and I plan to take some more pictures with her new 15" SSR Competitions in
the next couple of days.

I just hope the weather stays decent long enough for me to get some good
miles on her before it's time to tuck her back into storage for the winter.
So much for the 'summer project car' concept...

Just had to share...
