Please help

ok i got a few problems. your help is appreciated thanks in advance.

first my coolant light blinks at me when i drive. the car doesnt overheat.
what could this problem be?

Second, My car is very hard to start in the morning, or just when the engine
is cold, when the engine is warm the car starts fine.. the car idles bad
once in a while and has hesitations. any suggestions? where should i start
first?

Third, what is the Gas milage aroudn in the city on the 16v. i get about 240
miles to a full tank which i think is poor. i dont drive hard usually.
usually to the 4000 rpm range. ocassionaly to 6000 but rarely. is 240 miles
per tank good? or is that crappy?


btw i have a 1988 Scirocco 16v.
