In day to day use it poses no problem here in Texas, but not too long
ago the cops sat outside a car show in San Antonio and just handed
out tickets for this sort of thing as people came out of the show.
While I was living in Houston, I also heard about cops tacking it on
to tickets if they were stopping you for something else and they
happened to notice that your car was modded, but that was mainly
riceboys with ground effects and neon.
The goal is to overcome the deliberate nature of the process.
