Thanks for your quick responses and your suggestions.
Rear lifters hmm... Yes there is a Screw(?) missing from the passenger
side rear lifter allowing the sunroof panel to pop up when a door is shut.
Ive looked for the screw, no sign of it. Ive looked at the other side and
it seems that the screw that goes through the lifter into the Sunroof's
mounting bracket barely connects with this bracket. Is this normal? Also,
is the hole on the sunroof panel mounting bracket threaded? it seems it
must be. If so what is the thread size of that hole. it seems to me that
this should have been a nut and bolt type of fastener. In anycase it looks
like I'm off to the VW Parts store.
