RE: Mk2 gauge cluster to a Mk1

BTDT

Two major problems arise with this swap. First is that the MkII cluster has
the speedo on the "left" side, necessitating the drilling/cutting of a big
ass hole in the steering column support, and the use of the MkII upper
speedo half with its special connector.

Second, the cluster is deeper than the MkI due to the placement of the
electrical connectors and therefore you have to do some serious clearancing
of the sides of the steering column support to make it fit right and so that
the support won't cut into the blue flexible circuit stuff.

The electrical is easy, with two bentlys, only takes 1/2 hour to cut and
paste.

good luck
