good news and some really bad news..

well, just finished changing the oil/filter.. i swear i could hear the car
sighing in relief like it just got some blood transfusion! and when i got
rid of that dirt-infested el-cheapo air filter with the k&n... it was like
giving new life to the car!

now the really bad news... as i was struggling to get the oil filter out
(what a pain in the ass - i had to untighten/tighten by hand since the
filter wrench wouldn't fit in that tiny space to work with (it looks like i
might need to get one of those plastic caps that sit over the end of the
filter that works with a ratchet.)). anyway, as i was fumbling around
there, i noticed that there was something loose. not good. then my working
light blew out. shit. so i grabbed a dim flashlight and shone the thing at
the loose part..... it's the fuckin' motor mount!!!

then i figure i should give the engine compartment a look-over only to
discover another thing... the hose from the airbox to the ventilation
housing on the engine is wide open (from corrosion of some sort) right at
the housing.

so, a few questions for the group..

1. anyone have that hose sitting around (in the bay area) that they can get
rid of?
2. anyone have that motor mount?! and if i do this, i wonder if i should go
for some aftermarket nylon/poly-type??

thanks all!

dave
