RE: SS brake line stuff

It may not be appreciated by some on list, but Autotech's st. steel ends are
quite nice on their brake lines. I trust them more than the brass ones
that failed on friends car. You can reuse the stock bushings on new st. st
lines. BEFORE you completely remove the old line, thread new one on and
apply force to get over new hose end. Secure with two zip ties spaced a
bit apart. I would be curious about longevity of any after the fact
crud protection for sst brake lines. I've heard that race cars have no
problem with them because they replace/inspect them often. My $0.02.
Clarification: REmove one end of old line, thread complimentary endof
new on, transfer bushing.

RE: Valve cover oil baffle

Be careful of what you wish for. Got old one from VW counter parts guy.
AFTER I paid him the $, it took lotsa elbow grease and solvent to get
the crud off. It came from a diesel that died by neglect. At $15, its
not a sacrifice to get new. I'd second going for the rubber valve cover
gasket.
