Electrical Problems !!!
For all the folks that tried online/emails to fix my electrical problem (# 3
fuse blowing all the time) I want to thank you all for your insight, and I
wanted to pass a hint what was the problem.
# 3 fuse blowing up after 10 sec insertion., changed the clock (bad lcd short?), change lighter (been dead andf rusted fro years, possible short), change interior light (Oh look there is light in this car...) change door jams front and rear (rusted badly short?) and yet after all these changes, the # 3 fuse still blows, so I continue, track down the Power locks wiring in the doors, non functional and no shorts present (was disabled years ago)...
At a loss I call my brother in play. he looks at the book listen to all the
proper changes I did.. and looks at me.. power antenna ? I said orginally yes,
but not right now. he smiles, and head to the garage.
We try touching the fuse in the socket (without actually inserting it), click
clack is hear softly, he listens on the front driver side quarter panel , and
he says AGAIN. click clak, and grins... Yep power antenna, after removing the
wheel, the inner-wheel well, Tada Low an behold, a power antenna in the wing of
the car, still mounted properly, only one thing, the first owner (this antenna
has never been changed since we bought the car yeaaaars ago in 1988) must of
had a electrical problem with the motor as it was disconnected,. and had
screwed in a normal antenna whip into the hole of teh shaft of the power
antenna, the problem is that the antenna collected water and shorted out the
replay that makes the antenna go normally up/down.
Unplug the replay of the power antenna. put the fuse in... EVERYTHING
WORKS...!!
It was the most fun I had in my car garage in weeks.. laughing....
