Re: trying to get 10-sec out of a 1.8T
I'd examine that motor and where it came from very
carefully... The ECU alone goes for about $300.
No-one in their right mind would sell the complete
engine, wiring harness, ecu and tranny for $900...
Market value for just the engine, wiring harness and
ecu is around $2500-3000.
I'd also keep the existing 020 tranny. The 02J
tranny's out of the Golf/Jetta 4 will make the swap
much harder because you'll have to swap the hydraulic
clutch setup and cable shifter. The passat and audi
tranny's won't bolt up...
