[mk2] '84 oddball

  okay, here's a bit of trivia for you scirocco aficionados. big gas
tanks didn't come on mk2's until '85 except for the '84 wolfs, right?
i've got a scirocco here whose rear beam tried taking off my (and
daun's) head while taking off a big tank. what gives? the car is
defintely not a wolfs and the production date was march '84. any ideas?
