Re: scirocco-L-digest V1 #1572
RE: Tear drops tires
Used to autoX with Goodyear 205/55-14 ZRS's. Will buff off lettering on
inside with rubbing on strut and abrade liner minorly on stock 16V Scir
IME. Have used same in rear and also 195-55-14 Dunlop Spt 8000's
without any problems, but 16V had trick relieved lower spring perch,
fWIW.
RE: Blond 10W-30 stuff
Ifn you're using conventional dyno juice 10W-30, it should be "all good"
for temporate climates. Ifn you believe the motor oil FAQ, it may use less
VI improvers, help cold starts, fuel economy, but dunno nothing about
hair color.
RE: Snow tires
Have both 175/65-14 and 175-70-13 Nokkia NR-10 Haks. Kinda mushy on
cornering in dry compared to Pirelli 185-60-14s winter 190s or bro's same in
Blizzaks, but when there's snow, they rule. 13" wheel should be cheaper
and lighter, unless you've gone with the 10.1" brakes, then 14"s. IMO
if you're keeping the car, dedicated 13"s all around are better than
just a 14" up front.
