If you're not tearing down the engine, you might want to replace the front
and rear oil seals.

No need to switch unless you want more work.

A tranny mod isn't really a way to make your car hit a higher top speed. It
seems logical but you're better off balancing the motor and improving the
aerodynamics if you really want a chance of hitting that speed.
