Roof mount antenna failure symptoms

Hello,

My Fuba clone antenna seems to be on it's way out.  I replaced my original 
antenna about two years ago with a clone that came from "Antenna 
World".  The original was defiantly bad, because the new one had given me 
the best reception I had ever experienced.

In the past few weeks, my radio reception has been like driving under a 
bridge.  Clear - static - clear - static.  I suspect the amplifier is on 
it's way out.

Anyone have similar experience?
