I agree with that. I have had 3 VWs in 23 years, still own the last two,
including the 16 year old Scirocco, upon which I have spent maybe
$8000 in repairs over those 16 years. But the engine still runs pretty
well, I never redlined it. I also rarely reach 5000 RPM. I never had to
add oil. I must say I change oil AND filter every 6000 km. The last 4
years, I stored it from November to April. I use the Jetta year round.
I know someone with a 10 year old Tercel that holds pretty well too,
but I have fun in the Scirocco. No comparison.
I haven't had it with VWs at all :-)
