AC install q

Hi there!

Just thinking about installing an AC in my car. It's very hot in summer 
(especially in a slow traffic city). What parts do I need, what parts have 
to be swapped, how many time does it require, prices, suggestions...
I don't know the AC installed in the US cars: will it switch off while you 
accelerate hard?
