For $2600, it better have a techtonics 2020 or every single receipt since
the day it rolled onto the docks.  16V cars can be found for that price.  If
you want an 8V car, they should only run under $2000 for a really good
example.

The stock 8V is really that much slower than the 16V.  It has almost as much
torque on the bottom end, but can't nearly match the breathing until you
really work over the engine.  The 16V is worth looking around for if you
like having the fun power goodies and highway torque.

The front struts usually are either shot or a really bad brand of strut is
installed (meineke, KYB, or some monroe shit).  The only struts to look at
are Koni's, Bilsteins, or Sachs.  Front wheel bearing are usually shot and
make an annoying grinding noise.
