The name on the windows is the company that made the glass.
If you look at all the parts of your car you will find that many parts
are Hella or VDO etc. A car company makes some of the parts and
other companies make all the other parts. It is that simple.
If your glass is not stock it will have a different name. I think
all the MK1s in the US have a non German windshields because the US
had some requirement to use lame glass that delaminates after
15 years. I have never seen a MK1 with Greman glass.
