I have this kit on my 82. Instalation was not a problem (no special tools, no cutting, no welding, no spring compressor, etc.). I bought the kit that allows you to keep the origonal lower front spring baskets. If you dont mind cutting and welding there is a kit that gives you a little more height adj. but requires the modification of the front strut housings. Other things I like about the kit:
-higher quality springs - (I should admit I think progressive sport springs are for old ladys)
-height adjustability
-it's really easy to change springs out by removing the strut berring and sliding them through the hole on the strut tower
-you chose your own spring rates rather ethan have a manufacturer decide what you want your car to ride/handle like
-cant overlook the cool anodised colors =-)
there are other good things about the kit. I would recomend it wholeheartedly.

Do any of you guys have the ground control kit on your cars? If so
how was the quality and the ease of install? I talked to a few guys
at Shine Racing that said they had a problem installing the GC stuff
on VW's. Of course they sell their own coilovers. Anyone have an
unbiased - you installed them on your car yourself opinion? I know
Mannix runs them but he can custom install anything.

Subject: Shocks/Struts/Coil Over Kits Info
Was browsing through an old issue of SportCompact Car and came across the new adjustable shocks/struts from KYB. They are offered in the ground control kit for Hondas (no comments from the peanut gallery, please!) and VWs. Sent an e-mail to shox.com for a price quote (I'm the curious sort) and even though they don't carry it, they did offer me quite a selection. I know a few of you were thinking of coil over kits and what-nots and they offer such a kit with Eibach springs but doesn't come with struts for $399. Either way, I figure you can purchase a decent set of Bilsteins and still come out to spending about $750...a lot less than these $1,000 systems I see. And if you already have a set of Boges or Bilsteins, they $399 is pretty damn cheap for a step up to coil overs. I run Eibachs on my Scirocco 16v and I'm pleased. They do tend to be a bit harsh sometimes but no sagging in the rear, even with the full size stereo box I've got in the trunk. I'll be ditching that for a smaller Bazooka box soon so maybe some lucky lister will pick it up for the standard price (free/you pay shipping). Later!
