I know the guy selling the engine. He's a pretty cool
guy with way too much money. Nice Cabby, Turbo Beetle
a Jackson Supercharged Miata, the M-powered monster
you see in the pictures, and the list goes on. Oh, and
he's 24 or something like that.

Why he put the pics of the M motor in the sale for the
4cyl, I don't know. Anyway, I last saw the car under
construction a couple months ago and it looked really
awesome. I'm not too worried yet about autocrossing
him yet though, as I'm sure the Bimmer will take a
while to get used to. I'm hoping he'll show up this
weekend...maybe I can get a ride!

As for buying the 318ti motor, I'm not sure why you'd
want it. It's a 1.9L 4 cylinder...not much different
than what you already have. I know the older ones had
reliability problems (not sure about this vintage),
and I haven't ever heard of anyone getting serious HP
from them. IMHO, BMW makes good stuff, but the M3 6cyl
is the only "killer" motor, and there's NO WAY you'd
fit that thing into a VW in any normal manner.
