[non-roc] passat head q's

hey everybody-

thanks for the replies to my last non-scirocco email about my friend's 90
passat. anyway, the car is acting up again. about one week ago the waterpump
exploded while he was driving. he went ahead and replaced the waterpump, but
it appears that the timing belt snapped when the waterpump broke possibly
causing damage to the valves and camshafts. anyway, this kinda leaves him in
a tough spot and we're looking for advice. should he pull a junkyard head?
have his rebuilt? does anyone have some parts they're looking to get rid of?
anyone want to buy a 90 passat with bad valves? the body and interior are
immaculate....
