[mk2] hvac controls

  when messing with my blower (which now completely works, btw), i had
to remove two lines (blue and yellow) that connect to the air flap on
the passenger-side of the car. when i removed one (can't remember
which), there was a 'fssssss' sound (a vacuum leak, no @#$%). now my
controls won't let me select between the various settings. i check it on
my '86 and everything seems hooked up alright. my question is how can i
get the system to create a vacuum again to everything works properly?
gotta working blower and working a/c/, but can get 'em to work together.
